Custom Metallizing Services

Metallizing provides a decorative, highly reflective, metallic look for your parts. Koller Craft is recognized as a pioneer in the Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) Metallizing field and has both sputter and evaporation metallizing equipment.

We understand the intricacies involved in the process to produce a brilliant reflective surface. Our engineering team can work with you to design and mold your part from the beginning to allow for proper metallization. By providing both the molded part and the metallization, we ensure part quality across both processes.

Today we are able to apply Aluminum, Brass, Copper, and Silver coatings in specular (color-neutral reflection) and semi-specular finishes on a variety of plastic substrates. We can also apply sprayed or in-chamber top coats to provide a long lasting reflective surface.

FAQs

Have a question? We’re here to help.

  • What are the benefits of metallizing our parts?

Metallizing your parts can have both cosmetic and functional benefits. Metallized plastic components are typically used as reflective surfaces, and decoration in protective environments.

  • Will metallizing stand up to the outdoors or heavy contact?

No. Our metallizing process is not designed to be used outdoors or to be touched often. Chrome plating is the process used for those type of applications. In some applications, a hard protective top coat can be placed on top of our metallizing, but this will still not be as good as chrome plating.

  • What colors can you metallize?

Our standard color is silver. For other colors, we can add dye to a top coat. Please discuss your application with your Koller Craft sales representative if you are interested in this.

We are continually evaluating our quality system to maintain our “edge.” As a Total Quality system, we employ many of the modern quality techniques and procedures that influence all aspects of our business.
